Certifications · Five families · Seventeen certifications
By the function a professional leads, not by job title.
Three with an open exam. The rest, published before they open.
The RiskMathics Certificate Institute catalog holds seventeen certifications in five families. Three have an open exam. Two accept online registration: Derivatives Certification and Structured Products Certification for the staff of Mexican pension fund managers (Afores), recognized under the SAR investment regime (article 70 of the general financial provisions for the Retirement Savings Systems). The third, Derivatives Certification for insurers, surety companies and pension insurers, corresponds to the designation in Annex 8.4.2 of the Single Circular for Insurance and Sureties; its fee, its documentation and the opening of its registration are to be confirmed. The remaining fourteen are published as coming soon or in development, with their structure —and with domains and weights once the blueprint fixes them— before they open. None is announced as accredited before it is, and none inherits the recognition of the open certifications.
The families are not a list of titles: they group certifications by what a person does in the institution. Trading, measuring, controlling or recording derivatives and structured instruments under the Mexican regime. Leading a risk function before the board and the regulator. Valuing, structuring and executing in markets and instruments. Managing wealth and private banking. Or adding a cross-cutting discipline to any of those positions. The new certifications are built on six common modules —the SAR investment regime, securitization and structured vehicles, the capital framework, risk appetite, model governance and validation with artificial intelligence, and climate risk— with one item bank per topic and a single Institute-wide item-quality rulebook. A payment waterfall, DCVaR or a risk appetite statement has one definition, whichever certification examines it. And the exams registered with CONSAR and CNSF share no live items with any commercial certification.
- Exam openExam open. For the Afores certifications there is a public exam calendar on Saturdays, online, with Zoom proctoring and official identification, and online registration, individual or by team; registration closes three days before the exam and each date has 40 seats. For the insurers certification, the fee, the documentation and the opening of registration are to be confirmed; requests are handled at growth@riskmathics.com. These are the only certifications with regulatory recognition, in the subjects and roles the regulation designates. The CONSAR certifications are charged in pesos in Mexico and in US dollars elsewhere.
- Coming soonComing soon. The certification's structure is published, with its domains and weights once the blueprint fixes them and with the preparation program calendar once it exists; the first exam date is announced on the certification page as it is set. The exam does not accept registration yet. Anyone who wishes to receive the opening notice may request information at growth@riskmathics.com. No regulatory recognition.
- In developmentIn development. The certification is being designed; its structure is published before it opens so that it is judged by its content, not by its promise. It offers no exam registration, only a request for information at growth@riskmathics.com. No regulatory recognition, and none inherited from the open certifications.
Public commitment
Results transparency
Every certification in this catalogue publishes its structure before it opens and its results once it has been sat. Starting with the 2026 exam cycle, the institute publishes each year, in the open, the pass rate by certification and by role, the number of candidates, retakes and performance by subject.
A catalogue that does not publish how its candidates fare is asking for trust instead of giving it.
Family 01 · I
Pension funds and insurers · Mexican regime
The certifications the Mexican regime requires of staff who trade, measure, control or record derivatives and structured instruments.
Three have an open exam and recognition from CONSAR or CNSF for the roles the rules name; the fourth is being designed for the same regime and does not have it yet.
Derivatives Certification · Afores (CONSAR)
In derivatives, the error is quantified and lands on the monthly statement.
Structured Products Certification · Afores (CONSAR)
The error never shows in the price. It shows two years later.
Derivatives Certification · Insurers (CNSF)
The derivative hedges the reserve. The error surfaces in solvency.
Family 02 · II
Risk leadership and governance
Executive paths for those who answer to the board and the regulator.
Certified Chief Risk Officer (first exam in 2028), Certified Chief Credit Officer (first exam in 2028; its Level I is Senior Credit Professional) and Certified Insurance Risk & Strategy Professional (in development; first exam in 2029). They share one promise: to lead a complete risk function, from the committee to the board, rather than only to calculate it. The preparation programs are executive programs delivered by RiskMathics Financial Institute; the one for the insurance certification is being designed. The exam fee is published separately on each certification page. None of the three carries regulatory recognition.
Certified Chief Risk Officer
The one who answers for everything that can go wrong.
Certified Chief Credit Officer
The model does not decide the loan. The signature does.
Certified Insurance Risk & Strategy Professional (CIRSP™)
Lead an insurer's risk function without a decade of actuarial exams.
Family 03 · III
Markets, instruments and transactions

Financial Derivatives Specialist (two levels, first exam in the first quarter of 2027), Corporate & Investment Banking Certification (two levels) and Alternative Investments Certification for Latin America (three levels, first exam in the third quarter of 2027). Preparation programs are taught by RiskMathics Financial Institute. None of the three carries regulatory recognition.
Financial Derivatives Specialist
From the model to the desk: price, hedge and answer for the book.
Corporate & Investment Banking Certification
From the balance sheet to closing: value, structure, take it to market.
Alternative Investments Certification (LatAm)
With no daily price to correct it, judgment is the only defense.
Family 04 · IV
Wealth and private banking
From the bank advisor to the family office director.
Private Wealth Management Certification (three levels) and Private Banking Certification, Level I and Level II (Banca Patrimonial). Preparation programs are delivered by Private Wealth Management Institute: the Private Wealth Management Executive Program and the executive programs in holistic private banking, Level I (Entry Level) and Level II (Advanced). None of the three carries regulatory recognition.
Private Wealth Management Certification
Wealth is not inherited. It is structured, protected and passed on.
Private Banking Certification · Level I (Banca Patrimonial)
Where the account executive becomes a private banker.
Private Banking Certification · Level II (Banca Patrimonial)
From product to patrimony: where the banker becomes an architect.
Family 05 · V
Cross-cutting disciplines
Not a position but the layer being added to every position.
ESG, Climate Risk & Sustainable Finance Certification (first exam in the second quarter of 2027), Machine Learner Certification™ (first program cohort in November 2026), Quantum Financial Professional (QFP™) (in development) and ESG for Afores Certification (in development). They are offered as a complement to the other families, not as a stand-alone career path. ESG programs are delivered by RiskMathics Financial Institute; machine learning and quantum finance programs, by Quantum Computing Labs. ESG for Afores Certification is not currently endorsed by any Mexican regulatory body: it certifies knowledge and competencies and does not replace any certification required by CONSAR.
ESG, Climate Risk & Sustainable Finance Certification
Where sustainability stops being a story and becomes a number.
ESG for Afores Certification
The regime already demands ESG criteria; the local competence is not yet certified.
Machine Learner Certification™
The distance between using AI and knowing how to build it.
Quantum Financial Professional (QFP™)
Banks already fund quantum computing; the judgment to use it is scarce.
Certifications marked as coming soon or in development are not open, hold no regulatory recognition and inherit no designation from the open certifications. None of them is accredited under ISO/IEC 17024; that accreditation is a future goal and is not presented as obtained. Modules, hours, weights and formats come from each certification's blueprint and preparation program and may be adjusted before opening. Figures on competing certifications (CAIA, CFA Institute, GARP, RMA, FINRA, SOA/CAS/IFoA) come from the public information of each issuing body, as compiled in the blueprints. The frameworks cited —Basel, Solvency II, IFRS 9 and IFRS 17, ISSB, TCFD, TNFD, NGFS, COSO ERM, FRTB, BCBS 239, SR 11-7— are mentioned as subject matter, not as accreditation granted by their issuers. Each certification page publishes the preparation program fee and the exam fee separately. The operating entity is RiskMathics Certificate Institute, S.A.P.I. de C.V.
